Every morning as I go through the pages of the newspaper with a cup of tea, I find bold headlines – “Bus-truck collision in Tangail, 7 dead 20 injured”, “5 members from the same family dead by car-bus collision in Sylhet”, “44 dead in Chittagong as truck falls in to a ditch” and so on.
Seeing such news every day I feel resentful and helpless.
Many lives are lost before they flourish, many families lose their loving ones and many lose the only earning member and turn poor and penniless.
But what I can see is that nobody cares. Neither do I nor does my country.
I am happy to live my own life and relieved that none of my beloved ones is lost in the road accidents.
I feel fortunate as I take my morning tea and turn the pages of the daily, living every day of my life, yet dying every moment.
