J.A. Akash is a press photographer based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Born in 1984, he completed courses in photographer from the PhotoArt Institute in Chittagong. He started as a freelance photographer of the Daily Amar Desh and a staff photographer of the Daily Shuprobhat and the Daily Bhorer Kagoj.
He is also a contributor of the Daily Shomakal and presently works with the Daily Amader Kontho and Daily Kalbela as a staff photojournalist, and is also a member of the Chattagram Photographic Society and Chattagram Photoartist Club. His focus is on issues on child labour and the physically-disabled. Through his work, he wants to highlight their conditions to society as they remain largely ignored by the rest of the country.
