Born in 1939 in India, Rashid Talukder has worked as a Press Photographer for 46 years. He has worked with The Daily Ittefaq for 29 years. Before that he worked with the Press Information Department and The Daily Sangbad. He is a member of the advisory council of several photographic societies including the Bangladesh Photographic Society. He is also the founder of the Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association. The Bangladesh Photographic Society awarded him Honorary Membership in 1989.
Rashid Talukder’s Noteworthy Photographic Achievements:
•He has been awarded with more than 53 awards at home and abroad. Among them six awards are from a single competition in France organized by the United Nations entitled “Shelter for the homeless”.
•He won 2nd prize in England Muslim World Photographic Competition.
•Many of his photographs have been published in books and magazines including East Asia Encyclopedia, New Internationalist, Saudi Aramco & Himal.
•The highest Photographic Award given in Bangladesh the “Honorary Fellowship” of BPS was given to Rashid in 1992.
